location is perfect, in the middle of Hidalgo Park, one block from the park and cathedral. Beautiful and historical, garden and restaurant in the hotel are fabulous. view from the pool to the cathedral is perfect. beds are very comfortable. full, superb and best quality breakfasts of other hotels.
There was no hot water at night. I had to go to the reception to ask for hot water but the man in reception was asleep and did not wake up. I had to ring the little bell loudly and very continuously and shout for him to wake up. I asked for hot water and he did nothing for a few minutes. I asked him again and he told me to open the tap so that hot water would come out. I told him again that the faucet was already open for half an hour and still cold water was coming out, and after much struggle he finally got up and left to heat the water. After 15 minutes, warm water came out. The second night was a little bit hotter. Apart from this everything was almost perfect, but if there is no hot water in the hour I just want to bathe and sleep, this makes the experience very effective.

The cleanliness, the location, the friendliness of the staff
Well... On arrival at the hotel we were given a room that was not the one you had sold us on your site. They argued that there was no other room, that they were full and that they gave it to each other as it was occupied. We were even about to cancel there at the hotel and accept the one night penalty. But they offered us another room that well covered our expectations. The problem of parking is another issue that should be improved. It's still two streets away from the hotel, that's not the problem, the problem is that it's always closed and you have to give notice when you go out and come in. The worst thing is that I left my car parked behind another car but they didn't ask me for the keys. I had to leave since 6:00 am. Bad organization regarding parking.

central, friendly and available reception staff, parking included in the price is a very good detail, building (they were doing works at the entrance when we were staying) is very good, it has a nice architecture and swimming pool can be enjoyed until late.
We tried to have breakfast the first day, truth is that the staff and food (and the price) didn't like it very much: it seemed to be a problem to point out the breakfast to the room (in the end we paid for it on the spot), things came to us little by little and badly, we didn't find the waiters very available in general. the breakfast/dinner area is nice and relaxing (if it weren't for those inconveniences! we give the room to the corridor, it is not possible to have the blind open and room is almost always in the dark, although for the time we spent in it we did not care much

The location was nice once we settled in but very hard to find, direction given online were inaccurate and hard to park for checkin...went around the block many times!

What I like best of the hotel: the hotel is situate down town of Merida where are the commerical stores and the activities that are held during the night is close. Also the area seems very secure and the restaurants and bar are next door of the hotel. In addition, within walking distance there is the park, cathedral, restuarants and souvenirs.
What I did not like about the service not the hotel the hotel was fairly good very nice and comfortable place, however, when we arrive they greet us with a disappointed welcom. We have booked a doulbe room and what we got for the night was a two room with two single beds. This was disappointed as we come far miles and miles, tried and we want something nice and comfortable to rest. However, at the end of the day the Customer Rep assisted us and we were happy at the end.

The location right off the main plaza was very convenient and the view from the hotel toward the cathedral was stunning at sunset. The room was comfortable and the staff very helpful.

The location is perfect. One block away from the main square.
The hotel lost it's charm over the years. Dirthy rooms, bathrooms and beds. The sheets had holes and strange bugs in it. We left as fast as we could the next morning.

Hotel Caribe Merida, is probably the worst I have stayed in Mexico. I am traveling to Mexico for years. Never had such an appalling experience. I was given two rooms (50 and 62) on the 2nd floor. No elevator. Air Condition was noisy at the level of a heavy duty compressor/kongo and didn't cool. Dirty and stinking rooms impregnated with unbearable odors that no human could breath, corroded shower tubs barely dripping, water in the shower enclosure flowing into the bathroom, dirty pool, the most of all - a very unfriendly staff. No outside windows! Only towards the inside court, which is quite noisy and mostly humid. Tv set you could see only in the 3d world countries. Read their "Guest Book" at the entrance – their experience was similar to mine. They have 4 "exclusive suites Hidalgo" which are better, the other 60 rooms are bellow any standard. Location is very good, but the overall experience is disastrous. Hotel Caribe claimed that they didn't receive the special request I have placed in the Booked.net..... Do not book.

The location is great, they have a free parking (at their other hotel 3 blocks away), free wifi, beautiful inside garden area
When we arrived to the hotel, were told that Booked.net never updated our reservation (the changes were made a week in advance) and they were fully booked, but offered us a room at another hotel for 1 night for a much higher price, then the rest of the night at the hotel but for a higher price as well. I contacted Booked.net and they tried to reach the hotel but were told the staff didn't speak English lol. When the spanish-speaking rep called the hotel, they agreed to give us a room with the booked rates and transfer the no-show charge toward our stay. There are better hotel in the same price range. The a/c was super loud and barely worked.

Strong recommendation for couples seeking adventure
The rooftop pool was a fantastic spot, especially during sunset, giving us those amazing views we craved. Interactions with the staff were great, especially a young lady at the front desk who went out of her way to provide us with a map and some local tips.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but clearly acceptable for what we got.

The loction is excellent and really beautiful. The rooms are a bit small and out-dated but very budget friendly. The courtyard and restaurant are really nice to enjoy your breakfast.

The location was great because it was in the center of the Historic District which was why we went to Merida. The hotel itself is actually pretty cool...it used to be an old college. However, the room (maybe an old dorm room?) had uncomfortable beds and was extremely basic. But it was basically what we were looking for within our budget...so it worked out.
The room was not that comfortable, and the bathroom wasn't super clean.
